streetberg Posted March 20, 2012 Report Posted March 20, 2012 Hi wizards of bidding,A friend of mine and my self are going to NYC April 2-13 and are looking for affordable accommodation. We are on budget ($75 before tax/$90 after tax per night), but hope to find something central with own bathroom and something way more decent than hostels. Basically, we are interested in accommodation on Manhattan, in particular all areas south of Central Park. What star level can we expect to get and what would be a good strategy forward? I've been bidding on 3.5-5* hotels and so far we have not been successful in our bidding. I appreciate your help and answers,Streetberg
thereuare Posted March 20, 2012 Report Posted March 20, 2012 Welcome to BetterBidding!I don't think you're budget is realistic and i'd be surprised if you're able to get anything 3.5* or above for a $75 bid or lower. Is SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID an option? (not sure how much it would help but we'd at least take a look to see if you could at least get some part of your stay at something decent)If you're budget is firm you'll likely need to be looking at a hostel (and quite possibly with a shared bath)... have you found anything acceptable even close to your budget at this point? What has been the best deal you're able to find thru conventional booking channels? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
