Priceline Hotel: 2* Chicago (Millenium Park - The Loop - Grant Park) Congress Plaza Hotel

Well finally got a hotel for this weekend. Wondered why it had been so difficult until I read the post here about the Nato Summit in Chicago coming to town.

Tried for weeks bidding up to $110 for a 4* hotel in either the Millenium Park - The Loop - Grant Park or North Michigan Ave - River North zones. After I found out about the summit, upped the bid to $170 in those zones this past weekend for 4*, 3.5* and think as high as $160 for 3*.

Finally got the 2* Congress Hotel. Google Maps thinks it's permanently closed.

Glad you were able to get a room for a difficult time period in the city. I'd ask if there was any way you could get a higher floor room on the Michigan Ave side to see if there was any way you could get a nice view. This is an older property with very mixed reviews, but it is in a very nice location. I would love to see this hotel be bought and revamped, as it's in a great location and I think someone could pull together a boutique-y property with the historic nature of the property.

I would have to agree with Aaron about the request. The location is great; the hotel, not as much. It is a bit older, and has some character to it though.
