Made over 100 bids for 4*, for 3 days, starting at $55 in different areas.. Got bidding fatigue and just started going up among all the four star zones together using multiple bid technique.

The lowest counter bid I received was $146.

I'm going to bid for another trip in April in San Diego.

I read somewhere that I should only bid for a one day stay and that Priceline will let you add additional days once a bid is accepted. Is this correct? And is this a better bidding strategy?

I read somewhere that I should only bid for a one day stay and that Priceline will let you add additional days once a bid is accepted. Is this correct?

PRICELINE will often, but not always, let you try to extend your stay. However,

1) you can only try to extend the stay for up to the same number of nites as your original reservation. Therefore you can't bid for one nite, see the hotel, and then try to extend your stay for 4 additional nites. Win one nite you can try to extend for one nite, win two nites you can try to extend for one or two nites, win three nites you can try to extend for one, two, or three nites, etc, etc.

2) even when offered, there is no guarantee you'll be successful extending the stay. PRICELINE name come back with any of these responses:

-successfully extended your stay

-there is availability to extend your stay but only at a higher price (you'll be given the option to accept/reject the higher price)

-no availability at any price
