crmatson Posted July 8, 2005 Report Posted July 8, 2005 I love all of the information on this valuable site.I read through bidding advice and tried for the following 4* hotels on Priceline:1. Loop @ $752. Loop+NMA @ $803. Loop+NMA+Skokie @ $85Are these reasonable prices?Any suggestions for the best possible 4* rate in the NMA or Loop areas would be appreciated. Would I have better luck closer to 8/26?
thereuare Posted July 8, 2005 Report Posted July 8, 2005 Welcome to BetterBidding!Rates are a bit higher than usual for these dates (with the Hyatt showing a sold-out condition). Is $85 your maximum bid, as it doesn't appear that you're using all of your RE-BID ZONES. crmatson Posted July 8, 2005 Author Report Posted July 8, 2005 $85 isn't a max per se, but I don't want to hit $100 if I don' t have to.I wonder why rates are higher at that time?If need be, I can go over $100.
thereuare Posted July 8, 2005 Report Posted July 8, 2005 It's a mixed bag... the Hyatt is sold-out, while the Sheraton's rates are 'normal' (although at the high end of normal).I would raise your bid to $100 but not more than that and see how it goes over the next 3 weeks. You have two re-bid zones and I would bid as follows (you can switch which you bid first, Loop or NMA, depending upon your preference).Select 4* NMA...Bid $75, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $80, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $85, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* Loop...Bid $75, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $80, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $85, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* NMA and Loop...Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $95, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $100.Any questions feel free to ask. crmatson Posted July 16, 2005 Author Report Posted July 16, 2005 Tried again today with no luck...still have time to keep playingNMA $85+ Skokie $90+ Midway $95Loop $85+ Skokie $90+ Midway $95NMA + Loop $95+ Skokie $100+ Loop+ Midway $105

The Westin was very nice and the location was great as well. This was my first Hotwire experience, but thanks to the help and advice from this forum, it won't be my last.
