We R PSU Posted July 8, 2005 Report Posted July 8, 2005 My wife and I are going to be staying in Vegas from 8/20 (Sat) to 8/22 (Tue). We will be traveling with another couple. They are staying at the Stardust on 8/21 & 8/22 for $38 total (buy one night get one free). We are staying at Trop on 8/21 & 8/22 for $90 total ($45 each night). Neither hotel will allow us to check in on Saturday 8/20.They would like to find a cheap room for 8/20 that will make it easy for them to move to the Stardust. I would like to find a cheap room for 8/20 that will make it easy for me to move to the Trop. I would also consider staying all three nights at a different hotel if it could compare with the Trop rate and improved my location. I would like to keep the Saturday cost less than $120. All the above numbers are pre tax and fees.I understand Hotwire may not be the best choice for Vegas and I open to any suggestions.
thereuare Posted July 8, 2005 Report Posted July 8, 2005 Circus Circus would be convenient for them and for you the Excalibur is available for $130/nite... just over your budget (but very convenient to the Trop).Have you considered staying downtown for the nite? We R PSU Posted July 8, 2005 Author Report Posted July 8, 2005 I could not get a Saturday check-in at Circus Circus. Also checked Sahara, Riveria and Frontier with no luck on Saturday check-ins. I know they will start to panic soon. I booked Imperial Palace as a back-up for us on Saturday ($75). I may consider staying all three nights since it is about the same price as Trop ($49 on Sun & Mon). I like the location of IP but have not stayed there. I'm guessing it will be slightly less appealing than our last stay at the Venetian but we are trying to make this a low budget trip. Since this is a short trip, we prefer to stay on the strip all nights. Everything we have can be cancelled so I am still open to suggestions.
thereuare Posted July 8, 2005 Report Posted July 8, 2005 Saturday nite at Circis Circus for $108/nite.You can also use the above link to Sun/Mon at $45/nite.IP has a better location, Tropicana a better pool... but if staying at the Tropicana i would definately inquire about upgrading to a Tower Room from their Garden Room (i assume that is what you have booked). We R PSU Posted March 14, 2006 Author Report Posted March 14, 2006 We stayed all three nights at Imperial Palace (other couple spent one night at IP and other two at Stardust). Imperial Palace was not too bad. Check in was a little slow and the elevators were a bit of a pain. The location and the price make it a great value. Lots of low stake gambling available ($5 card games and 2-4 poker) and pretty good with the comps.
