cmarie Posted March 13, 2012 Report Posted March 13, 2012 I've been bidding over the past 2 days for one room in a Resort property in the Kaanapali-Lahaina area for 7/19-7/23. Using the rebidding zones I've gone up to $185 without any luck. Do you think I'm bidding too far in advance of my stay? I'm willing to go up to $200/night before taxes. I'd appreciate any suggestions!
lapuravida Posted March 13, 2012 Report Posted March 13, 2012 There is a 4* condo in Kapalua for $207 on HOTWIRE (I can't ID it) so it looks like you are bidding in the right price range. Stick with it at that price ($185) for a few weeks and you will more than likely get something.
thereuare Posted March 14, 2012 Report Posted March 14, 2012 PRICELINE doesn't deal with as many Condo properties so it's possible that the 4* Condo referenced on HOTWIRE is not an offered property thru PRICELINE.What is the best rate you're able to find at an acceptable hotel thru conventional booking channels? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. cmarie Posted March 15, 2012 Author Report Posted March 15, 2012 The resort hotels are running around $369 a night for the dates that I'm looking for, while the Royal Lahaina and Ka'anapali Beach hotel are running around $190, which is definitely more affordable for me.
lapuravida Posted March 15, 2012 Report Posted March 15, 2012 The resort properties and the 4* Westin Villas on Priceline are nicer than those two so definitely bid that amount ($190) and even up to your $200 max. It's definitely high season then so anything in the $200 range for a resort is a deal.
thereuare Posted March 16, 2012 Report Posted March 16, 2012 cmarie,What is your maximum bid for this trip? Are you willing to bid more for a higher rated hotel OR is your goal the least expensive 'x' rated hotel? Which zone(s) are you willing to accept? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. cmarie Posted March 18, 2012 Author Report Posted March 18, 2012 I'm hoping to stay around $200 a night before taxes, but I'd be willing to go above that if absolutely necessary ($220 at the most). My goal to stay on Ka'anapali beach near Whaler's Village in a 'resort' hotel. Thanks!
thereuare Posted March 19, 2012 Report Posted March 19, 2012 It's still a bit early and i would continued with your current bidding for at least the next 2 months or so. In the meantime you may want to try to book a refundable back-up if there is anything that you find of interest and within your price range.Try MAPS and HOTELS.com if you're looking for something in a specific location. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Keep us updated on your progress and let us know if we can be of further help along the way.
