DMarie
I'm new to this forum and to bidding on hotel rooms. Since I am traveling with my teenage son I would like a room in NYC with 2 double beds. Is there any way to guarantee 2 beds when making the bidding request? Thanks. Link to comment
AaronJB
Welcome to Betterbidding. :)The general rule with PRICELINE is that it guarantees 1 bed/double occupancy. One can request two beds with the hotel once the reservation is made, but the hotel could say no or charge more. In some areas, you are less likely to have a problem with requesting two beds (Orlando being an example), but there are areas where using the service with the expectation of two beds is a high risk - NYC is probably the biggest example. Rooms in NYC are smaller-than-average and rooms at the 3.5/4* level can be as small as 130-160 sq ft, or too small to even fit a rollaway. What is generally recommended is to look at HOTWIRE instead. With HOTWIRE, you can indicate the amount of people in the room and ensure (if you search for more than two people), bedding for the party (2 beds or 1 + rollaway or 1 + sofabed.) If you are a party of 1 adult/1 child, you could search for 1a/2c. There is no way to guarantee two beds on either service, but if you indicate more than 2 people on HOTWIRE, it should ensure some form of bedding for the indicated party. Please let us know date/s of travel, desired budget per night and which areas would be of interest if you would like assistance with your stay.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
