rncroft Posted March 13, 2012 Report Posted March 13, 2012 I noticed this 3 star hotel at $91 on Hotwire, deduced through Betterbidding that it was the Crowne Plaza North, so I threw a bid in at $80 on Priceline and won. I had been bidding earlier in the day to no avail trying to land somewhere in Scottsdale or Tempe, but Spring Training has skyrocketed hotel costs. Of course, I used the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links through BetterBidding a gazillion times. Thank you for helping me save some money for my nonprofit client.
AaronJB Posted March 13, 2012 Report Posted March 13, 2012 Congrats on your success. :)Fantastic deal for this property during the busy Spring training period! Glad you are pleased with the result.Thank you for sharing your win and using the site's PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links to start your purchases and searches.
rncroft Posted March 14, 2012 Author Report Posted March 14, 2012 PS...I booked this yesterday for check in today, so I didn't have time for re-bidding to know whether this could have been booked for less, and I was "bid-weary" from having spent an hr or so bidding and rebidding with additional zones, etc trying to land a 3.5 star (Zona) in Scottsdale. When I reached near $100, Priceline gave me the "one-time" option to rebid at $116. I simply decided that was too much (especially when you would add $15 resort fee per night) when I knew I could get a 3 star property in this range and I'm on business trip, not necessarily vacation.
