Priceline Hotel: Help with LV Priceline bidding 4 or 5 Stars

Hello Everyone!

I am brand new to the site, and already thoroughly impressed. I would love to get some help from the vets though....

My girlfriend and I are leaving for vegas on Saturday, 3/17 and staying through 3/22 (Sat. thru Thurs.). Due to some changing circumstances (PH towers changing ownership and being reduced to a 3.5 star rating), we have the opportunity to get our money back and book a new hotel.

I'm looking into bidding with priceline. First I wanted to make sure that the Palazzo, Venetian, and Wynn (Not TRUMP) were the only 3 in the northern strip region for 5* and Aria, Cosmo, and Vdara were the only 3 in the southern strip region.

If this is the case, any idea where you guys would recommend a starting bid? I'd be extremely happy at any of these 6 hotels.

As far as 4 stars go, is it still just Mirage and TI in the north?

Thanks a bunch guys, and again, extremely impressed with the site. Will do all I can to promote!

Welcome to BetterBidding! (and thanks for the compliments on the site :) )

Based upon what is 'known', your current assessments of likely hotels in each zone is correct. However, just as your current hotel was downgraded, upgrades can happen at any time, and new hotels can be added at any time, so no list can ever really be considered 'complete' and it's impossible to know if these are the 'only' possibilities in a given zone (see the comments at the top of the Priceline Hotel List

You could probably get a 5* hotel in the Strip South zone for ~$100 (give or take $10 or so) if that is of interest, if not, what is your expected budget for this trip? Also, since your first nite is a Saturday nite, you may benefit from SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID... is this something that would be of interest (you may save money, but would likely need to change hotels after Saturday nite)

Let us know your thoughts, budget, desired star rating (4* vs. 5*) and we'll take it from there.

Thanks for such a quick response! Our budget is around $500 - $550 for the five nights, so roughly around 100 a night. If we were to spit up our bid, what would you recommend for Saturday night and then Sunday - Thursday? Again, we would be interested in any 5* hotel in the north or south part of the strip.

Thanks!

This would be the idea, but as the full date range may be within your budget, do you want to try for the complete set of dates first... or would you prefer to split in an attempt to save a few extra dollars? (i gave a quick look and splitting may help a little, but the savings wouldn't be that big... i'm guessing that is all goes well maybe $10-$30 (total) so it's up to you if this would make having the possibility of changing hotels worthwhile.
