Hotwire Hotel: 3* San Francisco (Japantown - Civic Center North) Hotel Carlton

I just tried a moment ago for 3* in San Francisco Downtown area for the date 31/3~3/4.

1. start 70$ choose Civic Center area and failed

2. start 75$ and add Financial District and failed

3. start 80$ and add Union Square and failed

4. start 85$ and add Union Square West and failed

I am wondering whether because it is *Easter Holiday* that the hotel price goes so high? Or the price is normal for 3* hotel?

Is there anyone who can provide some strategy for me for better bidding? Thanks in advanced!!

Were you bidding the Civic Center South-Hayes Valley zone or the Japan Town - Civic Center North zone? HOTWIRE has what i'm guessing to be the Hotel Carlton (in PRICELINE's (Japantown - Civic Center North) for $86/nite... would this work for your plans?

I'm not currently seeing it any more when searching HOTWIRE for your dates.

If you change the currency drop down menu on the top right of HOTWIRE's page to US Dollars (and if applicable the country to United States), do you then see a 3* hotel in the (Japantown - Civic Center North) with only Boutique and Internet amenities listed?

I got the deal of 83$/night in Japan Town of San Francisco, Hotel Calton,

Totally it is around 290$ (tax is too much 0o0!!)
