The Rosen Centre and the Rosen Shingle Creek have each been reported to the board with this amenity set so either of these would be my best guess for this one. Of the two i'd slightly favor this one being the Rosen Shingle Creek, but you should at least be prepared for either.

Hello,

Strategy for Orlando Int'l Drive (Peabody) March 30-Apr 1 or March 31-Apr 1

I have used the links here before, but never have asked for strategy help before. We have an event at the Peabody hotel on March 31-Apr 1. I'd like to stay at the Peabody, ideally, but I'm not sure how I could work out the bidding for that. If that didn't work out, I'm cool with the next closest place to the Peabody on I-Drive South, preferably on the north side of Toll Road 528. I'd like to spend $100 per night or less for two nights. Am I providing enough of the right information? Any suggestions?

Thank you in advance for your help,

Kara

Please keep all posts for the same stay in the same thread, if you ultimately use PRICELINE we'll move this thread to that section of the board once a hotel is won (it will actually be done automatically if you use the "EDIT TO REPORT WIN" button on the lower right corner of this page ;) )

Regarding your scenario above, you can't bid on a specific hotel when using PRICELINE, you have to be able to accept any hotel in the zone at the star level (or higher) that you choose. With HOTWIRE you can often take an educated guess as to what is being offered based upon the amenities associated with the property, but it's still a 'best guess' and no guarantees you will receive the hotel you're hoping for. As well, HOTWIRE only shows one hotel at each star level per zone, so there is a chance the hotel you're hoping for isn't the one which is offered for your particular dates.

Let us know your thoughts and how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there.

Hello,

Thanks for the reply and helpful info. I think after reading so much I was getting the Priceline and Hotwire tips confused.

I would like to stay at a 3.5* or better, definitely March 31st, possibly March 30 as well if I can spend around $100 per night or less. It would be best for us to physically be on International Drive, but it isn't critical since I will have my car.

Does that help?

Thanks,

Kara

So to confirm, you want to first try for a 4* hotel in the Sea World - Intl. Drive - Convention Center zone for March 30-April 1 up to $100... if that is rejected then you want to try for a 4* hotel in the same zone for just the nite of March 31st?

Please confirm and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow.

No offense taken...

When bidding 4* in Orlando you have NINE re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding. (NOTE: Downtown Disney-LBV is NOT one of them)

Select 4* SeaWorld-IDrive-Convention...

Bid $50, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $55, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $58, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $60, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $63, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $65, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $68, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $70, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $73, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $75

Any questions feel free to ask. If the above is rejected HOTWIRE has a 4* hotel in the SeaWorld zone for $75/nite, but we'll have to investigate further to see if it's a 'known' property and if so if it's 4* rated on PRICELINE (as HOTWIRE star rating can often be a little higher than PRICELINE's)

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Well, I did it! I did end up with the Rosen Shingle Creek, which I didn't want at first, but it looks to be a very nice property and I got it for $60/nt. It was not hard at all to follow your instructions. Thank you so much!
