Priceline Hotel: 4* Santa Clara, Wed July 6th - $75 Lost

Based on other successful bids of $48-$50 for the 4* Hilton in Santa Clara, I tried bidding up to $75 on July 5th and again on July 6th, using the various surrounding areas for free rebids. Although the Hilton claims to have rooms available, none of my bids for Wednesday July 6th were accepted.

A little unusual perhaps? The going rate at Hiltonhotels.com appears to be $199.

Hard for us to comment after the fact, but if you have trouble bids that you think should be accepted post the pertinent info and we'll try to have a look and/or find suitable alternatives.

Thanks - next time I will provide more information before it is too late. One reason for the rejection is that hotels in the Santa Clara area are busier during the week (as this is a business destination, not a vacation destination). I was bidding on a weekday, whereas the bids that won at ~$50 range included a Friday and/or Saturday night.

Also, it was nice to know that I could have two sets of bids, one as myself and then have my spouse bid. Might be useful information for others.
