overhear
I've been bidding on Priceline hotels in Phila City Center for the past few days. Since I've not been successful I thought I'd try Hotwire and was hoping to identify some hotels on my own but I'm afraid I'm going to have to ask for some help. I checked BB Hotwire Hotel List but had trouble narrowing down the possibilities given that it seems that some amenities might actually be offered but not are consistently listed. The 2 offerings currently available that sound interesting are:3.5* Center City West / University City area hotel - $81Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access TRIPADVISOR rating: 3.53.5* Center City East - Old City area hotel - $134Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access TRIPADVISOR rating: 4.0Any help would be much appreciated! overhear
We are looking for a room for 1 night, the evening of March 10. My apologies for the delay in reporting on my London trip. As I just reported, we ended up booking a "special offer" through simply-london.com -- another good way to go if you need a room for 3 people. Link to comment
AaronJB
I'm seeing a different 3.5* in the Center City East area when searching this evening - are you still seeing the above listing? The 3.5* CC West has not yet been ID'd/reported to the board, but my guess is that it may be a slightly different amenity set for Sheraton City Center or Sheraton University.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. overhear
Thanks for your thoughts on the City Center West property. To clarify, my search options are set to March 10, 1-night, City Center East or City Center West, 2 Adults and 1 Child (13 yrs old), 3-3.5 or 4-4.5 stars. I do have a back-up reservation at Penn's View at a reasonable price but I'm wondering if I can improve upon it. I've bid up to $120 on PRICELINE using the link on BB with no luck. As of today I am seeing these selections, (plus a City Center East hotel that is beyond my budget):3.5* Center City West / University City area hotel - $86Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access TRIPADVISOR rating: 3.54* Center City West / University City area hotel - $127 (Hyatt at the Bellevue???)Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access TRIPADVISOR rating: 4.53.5* Center City East - Old City area hotel - $130Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access TRIPADVISOR rating: 4.0 Link to comment

overhear
It's time to close this thread. I decided to go with our plan B since bidding didn't pan out and Hotwire didn't offer much. We stayed at Penn's View Hotel (lovely historic hotel in the historic district). Had a terrific room with a balcony overlooking the water for $150 including breakfast. Thank you so much for your help! Link to comment
