ICGSAP Posted March 5, 2012 Report Posted March 5, 2012 Hello,This will be my first time visiting Boston, so I wanted to get the advice of this board regarding which zones to choose. I did some research online and found that "Boston Common - Theater District," "Copley Square - Back Bay," and "Quincy Market - Financial District" seem to be the most frequently recommended. I am going to be the typical tourist on this trip so will want easy access to the T and the sights. Do these zones seem like a good fit, and are there any others that might be worth looking into?I'd like to start with a 4* strategy up to $140. If unsuccessful, then a 3.5* strategy would work.Thank you in advance for your help.

ICGSAP Posted March 5, 2012 Author Report Posted March 5, 2012 Clicked both links. Dates are 3/12 - 3/15.Thank you.
thereuare Posted March 5, 2012 Report Posted March 5, 2012 Those zones should have you centrally located, but at current prices your budget might be a little tough, even at the 3.5* level, but let's give it a try and we'll take it from there. At both the 4* and 3.5* levels you have FIVE re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 4* Theater District and Copley Square...Bid $85, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $95, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $105, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $110, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 4* Theater District and Quincy Market...Bid $85, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $95, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $105, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $110, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 4* Theater District and Copley Square and Quincy Market...Bid $115, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $130, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $135, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $140If the above is rejected, closer browser and once again use a board link to re-access PRICELINE and re-try the above at the 3.5* level instead of 4*.Any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes. storemahmail Posted March 12, 2012 Report Posted March 12, 2012 Hi i just wanted to follow up on this advice since I am looking at a similar situation: same dates, 4* in Quincy Market area. Re-bid zones for this would then be Medford, N. Cambridge, Fenway Park, Brighton-Brookline, and S. Boston, correct? Sorry, first time using this strategy. Thanks very much!
thereuare Posted March 13, 2012 Report Posted March 13, 2012 storemahmail,Please start a NEW TOPIC for your own stay... even if your dates are exactly the same as the OP of this thread, each of your bidding/purchases may take a different turn. One of you may be willing to raise your bid the other not, one may increase budget while the other not, one may decide to include other zones, etc, etc. Of course you're each welcome to post/update in each others threads so you can each benefit from the experience of the other, but for specific bidding advice and/or strategy please keep these such posts in your own thread. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Thanks. ICGSAP Posted July 1, 2013 Author Report Posted July 1, 2013 To close the loop on this topic, I was unable to secure a room within my price range and stayed with a family friend instead. Thanks
