hawkeye88 Posted March 4, 2012 Report Posted March 4, 2012 First time visiting New Orleans and would really like to stay in French Quarters for the experience and convenience.I have been bidding on Priceline over the last few day and have not been successful. Any suggestions? Below is my bid history bidding only on FQ regionMarch 3rd140 - 4* rejectedAdded 3.5* still bid 140 and rejectedMarch 4th$150 - 4* rejectedAdded 3.5* still bid 150 and rejectedAdded 3* still and bid 140 and rejectedI'm getting kind of worried that this may be a little more expensive than I expected Any suggestions? I will post if I have any luck. Thanks!
AaronJB Posted March 5, 2012 Report Posted March 5, 2012 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)New Orleans unfortunately does get noticeably more expensive if there is a convention or event going on, and the FQ area is the first to start getting expensive. Unfortunately, this looks like an instance of the entire area being expensive - HOTWIRE has no listings showing in the FQ area for these dates, and other areas are pricey - the downtown 4* on HOTWIRE is $229 and a 3.5* is $232.What would be your desired max for this stay?Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

hawkeye88 Posted March 5, 2012 Author Report Posted March 5, 2012 Thanks for the input thus far.Our max would likely be 160-175 per night. I think we may have found alternate options for 4/21-4/22 but still may decide to split our stays to 2 different locations and may stay in the FQ on 4/23. Hopefully I'll have a little more luck on bidding just that date. Thanks and I'll post my bids once I try again.

hawkeye88 Posted April 18, 2012 Author Report Posted April 18, 2012 Ended up using 2 nights of Holiday Inn points on 4/22 and 4/23. That left me with 1 night that I still needed to purchase accommodations for. A month or so back I booked Harrahs for 195 for this night but tonight I thought I would try one more time booking 4/21. My first bid in FQ 4 Star I put in 133 and it took. After taxes it bumped it up to 161. Cant wait!!!!
