Tripod Posted March 4, 2012 Report Posted March 4, 2012 Hi, I'm basically a novice here on Priceline, but have gotten the basic gist of how it works. My husband and I are looking to stayin Rome from August 21 until August 23 (2 nights). We are looking to spend no more than $150 per night. I do not know how reasonable we are with our expectations, but we are willing to stay in Zones 2-6 (basically everything with the exception of zone 6 by the airport), but we would strongly prefer to stay in zones 2-4. Lastly, we hope to find a hotel in the*4 or *5 range. As a side note, I used Priceline a long time ago to book a room in Los Angeles and I was unable to state a room preference. I do not know much about rooms in Italy, but if I end up booking through Priceline, would I only be able to get a room that is a "single," not a "double" and thus, may not be big enough for my husband and I? Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much!!!
thereuare Posted March 4, 2012 Report Posted March 4, 2012 Welcome to BetterBidding! Please start by reading your messages....we are willing to stay in Zones 2-6 (basically everything with the exception of zone 6 by the airport)...To avoid any confusion, please list the zones by PRICELINE name rather than by number, as the numbers will change as new zones are added or existing zones are renamed....we would strongly prefer to stay in zones 2-4.Are you willing to pay more to stay in one of these zones vs. the others? Do you want to bid these zones first up to your limit, then if rejected start over and include the 'other' zones?I used Priceline a long time ago to book a room in Los Angeles and I was unable to state a room preference. I do not know much about rooms in Italy, but if I end up booking through Priceline, would I only be able to get a room that is a "single," not a "double" and thus, may not be big enough for my husband and I?You can't choose the bed type or room configuration, but the room is guaranteed to accommodate 'double occupancy'. Unfortunately, especially in Europe where standards are a bit different than here in North America, this does create the possibility of a room with one 'double bed'.Let us know if/how you'd like to proceed, and the information above, and we'll take it from there. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Tripod Posted March 4, 2012 Author Report Posted March 4, 2012 Thank you so much for responding to my post. I just read the message in my inbox. Thankks for your quick reply!I am ok with staying in any of the following zones: Central, Vatican City, North, South, and West; however, I would be willing to spend more on the Central or North Zones, but no more than $150 a night total for any zone. Please let me know if you need any information and any suggestions you may have on bidding for places in Rome.
