A&F Posted March 3, 2012 Report Posted March 3, 2012 Hi I was hoping you could help me ID a property. I of course used the HOTWIRE link on the site to find it :)Dates for this stay: 3/21-3/27Las Vegas Strip - South area hotel$79.00 per room, per nightAmenities:Resort, Casino, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s)Thanks!
A&F Posted March 3, 2012 Author Report Posted March 3, 2012 Hi, I was wondering if you can help me see what are the rates I might expect in bidding for either a 4* or a 5* strip north or south for 3/21-3/27.I read the post about the rebid zones just wondering what I should expect to start at for each of these. I'm looking at trying to stay in the $100/night range if I can and am not opposed to Vdara but would rather not get Trump. How does priceline see the Westin as its listed as a 3 1/2 star.. if i stay 4* or above can I be reasonably sure that will exclude that property? Thanks for any and all help.
A&F Posted March 3, 2012 Author Report Posted March 3, 2012 Well, I tried PRICELINE (using the links here) starting at $80/n for a 5* and used the re-bid zones up to $110 and was rejected. I think i will wait until tomorrow and see if the prices change and maybe try for a 4* I would still be interested in knowing what the HotWire property is as a backup.

A&F Posted March 4, 2012 Author Report Posted March 4, 2012 Thanks for the reply! I have included more info below:What is the star rating for the HOTWIRE property above and are you sure you have included the full list of amenities associated with this property? (even after clicking the 'See all' link near the top right of their home page)4* Las Vegas Strip - South area hotel $79 3/21-3/27Recommended in 85 % of Hotwire customer reviews(0.0 - 1.2 mi from city center)This Hotel features the following amenities:Resort Casino Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center Golf Nearby and I was curious about this one as well:5* Las Vegas Strip - North area hotel $109 3/21-3/27Recommended in 80 % of Hotwire customer reviews(0.6 - 4.5 mi from city center)This Hotel features the following amenities:Resort Casino Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center Golf Nearby Spa Services Which zone(s) did you include in your PRICELINE bidding? Is SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID an option? So I want to stay in either North or South Strip. I First select Select 5* Strip SouthBid $80, rejected add Strip North zone...Bid $85, rejected add re-bid zone...Boulder StripBid $90, rejected add re-bid zone...FremontBid $95, rejected add re-bid zone...HendersonBid $100,rejected add re-bid zone...Lake Las VegasBid $105,rejected add re-bid zone...AirportBid $110,rejected add re-bid zone...Convention CenterI know I had a few zones left to use but wanted to stop there and try a 4* today.I was actually considering the option of splitting up my bids since I am pretty sure the weekend stay is what is killing me. My wife is less eager for this option but what else is new ;)? I am not sure of a good strategy for that though. My stay is a Wed(3/21) - Tues (3/27) how would you suggest splitting this stay?
Romelle Posted March 4, 2012 Report Posted March 4, 2012 Well, I tried PRICELINE (using the links here) starting at $80/n for a 5* and used the re-bid zones up to $110 and was rejected. I think i will wait until tomorrow and see if the prices change and maybe try for a 4*You do know you could close your browser to "uncheck" all those 5* free rebid zones, and then come back into Priceline and bid at the 4* level - all in the same bidding session on the same day? Or maybe you just wanted some time to think it over? Never a bad idea.Romelle
thereuare Posted March 4, 2012 Report Posted March 4, 2012 The 4* Strip South property is a match for the Tropicana so that would be my best guess for this one.For the Strip North property, are you sure this is 5* rated... or is this a 4* listed property? If moving forward with PRICELINE, are you going to SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID at the 5* level first OR try for your complete stay at the 4* level? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
A&F Posted March 4, 2012 Author Report Posted March 4, 2012 For the Strip North property, are you sure this is 5* rated... or is this a 4* listed property?Ya it was listed as a 4* sorry my mistakeIf moving forward with PRICELINE, are you going to SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID at the 5* level first OR try for your complete stay at the 4* level?I think I will actually try splitting my stay on my next bid. Can you please recommend some strategies? What do you think about bidding the 5* for the weekdays then a 4* for the weekend? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Absolutely will use the links :D this board and you thereuare are a great help and I appreciate it!
