Priceline Hotel: 4*/3.5* 4/21-4/24 Chicago Downtown - no success, any help?

Dear all

it's my first time posting but have been reading through the forum and the amount of information is great.

I am trying to bid for one room in Chicago, either MP/Loop/Grant Park or North Michigan Ave, for April 21-24 but haven't had any luck so far. I have bid up to $120 for the 4* and $100 for the 3.5* adding all re-bid zones and increasing the bid step by step.

I have now booked a refundable room at the BW River North which will cost me $140 per night as a back-up in case nothing shows up on PL.

Is there anything special going on in Chicago during this weekend? Or is it simply too early to bid (I saw most wins on the forum to be for March/early April)?

Rates start ticking higher in late April as temps start moving higher and you get other elements like Cubs/White Sox seasons starting.

The BW River North is a 2.5* so it's not really comparable to 3.5*/4*'s - I think you are really not far off from getting a 4*, although it may get to the neighborhood of where you currently have the BW. I'd say a 4* is more likely in the $130-140 neighborhood, and 3.5* probably $115-125 +/-. I'd try lower price points before moving up to these levels.
