samsonb3 Posted February 16, 2012 Report Posted February 16, 2012 I hope I have stumbled across the right place...I have been on Hotwire and am looking for a hotel for 3/23-3/26 in the downtown Nashville area. I am seeing a "super savings" offer for a 4 star hotel for $127 a night. THis seems to good to be true, therefore I am hesitant to book which is why I am seeking out some assistance with using this website. ANy help would be much appreciated! Thank you in advance!!!
Romelle Posted February 16, 2012 Report Posted February 16, 2012 In the Tennessee - Hotwire area, the very first post has a list of all hotels people have reported here as HOTWIRE "wins". Scroll down to Nashville and see what 4*s have been reported. While it is always possible you could get an entirely different hotel, it will at least give you a good idea of the general type of hotel you might get. Note the list of amenities by each hotel. Lots of times, it is possible to make a good guess as to the hotel you might get by finding a match with one of these amenities lists. You also can post the amenities list of the offer at which you are looking, and the moderators can usually make a pretty good guess as to what the hotel might be. Don't hesitate too long though, if you like what you see. HOTWIRE offers change all the time.RomellePS - I'm a member, not a moderator.

thereuare Posted February 17, 2012 Report Posted February 17, 2012 For the Vanderbilt property, both the Hotel Indigo Music Row-Vanderbilt and the Marriott Vanderbilt have been seen with this amenity set, but at the 3.5* level. I'd speculate that one/both of these has been upgraded to the 4* level since last reported to the board; can't say for certain, but that would be my best guess for this one.As Romelle suggested, the Downtown property matches previous reports for the Sheraton so that would be my best guess too. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help. Romelle Posted February 26, 2012 Report Posted February 26, 2012 I don't know Nashville, but the two hotels are along 17th and 19th avenues respectively. Assuming 1st avenue is "downtown", that looks to be a bit of a hike. There are good maps on both of the hotels' web sites if you have a specific destination in mind and want a better idea about the distance. If you haven't used it already, maps.google.com is wonderful for plugging in two addresses and finding driving, bus, walking and bicycling distance and time.Romelle

thereuare Posted March 2, 2012 Report Posted March 2, 2012 Is this 4* rated? The Hotel Indigo and the Marriott each have been seen with this amenity set, but at the 3.5* level... it's possible either of these has been upgraded since last reported to the board. Also, the Hilton and Sheraton both have these amenities, but have been reported with more amenities than above, so it's also possible that this is what you're seeing but with a new amenity set associated with them. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. samsonb3 Posted March 2, 2012 Author Report Posted March 2, 2012 Yes, this is 4* rated on HOTWIRE. I was hoping it could be the Hutton hotel. I wasn't thinking it could be the Indigo as that rate is only $133.
thereuare Posted March 3, 2012 Report Posted March 3, 2012 The crossed out rate shown by HOTWIRE is not necessarily the retail rate of the hidden hotel being offered, but rather is an average rate of different hotels in the zone at that star rating... therefore you can't use the price to try and guess the HOTWIRE hotel offered. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
