renandvan Posted March 1, 2012 Report Posted March 1, 2012 I was aiming for a hotel in Santa Barbara. (Saw that someone was awarded $85 at the Hilton SB). Placed an $85 bid for Santa Barbara and was rejected. Added Goleta and raised my bid to $90, and was rejected. Finally, added Carpenteria with a raised bit at $95 and was awarded the Best Western Inn. The original price of the room was $129/night. I saved 26% using Priceline.I have not yet stayed at this hotel yet, but my preferred 3* choices would have been the Hilton or the bed and breakfasts: Casa Del Mar, Bath Street Inn or Harbor House Inn (the latter of which was reasonably priced at $115 on Priceline's subsidiary website, bookings.com).
AaronJB Posted March 1, 2012 Report Posted March 1, 2012 Congrats on your success.Sorry to hear that this wasn't what you were hoping for, but a nice rate for a traditionally expensive area where discounts are often not as/quite as aggressive as other areas.Thank you for letting us know about this new PRICELINE property so that we can update the site's Priceline Hotel List.Unfortunately, B & B's very, very rarely have ever been seen as PRICELINE bidding wins.Thank you for sharing your win and please use the site's PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links to start your purchases and searches.Enjoy your stay.
lapuravida Posted March 2, 2012 Report Posted March 2, 2012 When you say Hilton SB, where you confusing it with the Hyatt?
