I registered on priceline.co.uk so all my bids are in pounds. For LV I have bid up to
porty Posted July 5, 2005 Author Report Posted July 5, 2005 Just to clarify the US Dollar equivalent is:$132 for 4 * and this bid was rejected
thereuare Posted July 5, 2005 Report Posted July 5, 2005 You bid up to that much for a 4* or a 5*?If a 4* you can have success by booking the Monte Carlo thru THIS LINK for $109/nite. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
thereuare Posted July 5, 2005 Report Posted July 5, 2005 The Ventian's website is currently down, but using other sources for rates it appears that rates are much higher than when we typically see 'cheap' bids accepted at the Venetian. There is at least one mid-sized convention (25,000+ people) in town during your stay, as well as a large one starting immediately upon your depatuare (although some will arrive beforehand to set up) which is likely affecting demand for your dates.Just how much are you willing to pay for a 5* hotel before you consider dropping your star quality? porty Posted July 6, 2005 Author Report Posted July 6, 2005 Prob willing to pay around $130 - $140 for a 5* but wouldn't fancy going much further than this.If I were to start bidding for a 4* in Vegas, how much do you think would be reasonable for this time of year?
thereuare Posted July 6, 2005 Report Posted July 6, 2005 I dont' think i would bid it as the opaque players are often not the best deal in Vegas. The Monte Carlo at $109 is a pretty good deal, has a great location and a great pool, and is cancellable in case availability at the Venetian opens up.You could try a lowball bid in an attempt to get a better deal than the above, but i would have to save 'more than a few dollars' to give up the location of the MC and risk something that is very south strip. If you choose to do that, keep in mind that the above has no booking fee, so equivalent to a ~$102 bid on Priceline, so i would only bid substantially less than that (if at all... since location is so important in Vegas). Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
porty Posted July 10, 2005 Author Report Posted July 10, 2005 Have booked Monte Carlo for $109. Will keep trying to bid for Venetian though. Thanks for your help!
