fbg26 Posted March 1, 2012 Report Posted March 1, 2012 I'm going to check out NYU on 3/22 and am looking for a cheap stay nearby. How cheap do you think I can get? PL has a 2 star at $119, but the cheapest 3 star on PL is over $200. The cheapest HW "hot rate" for a 3 star is $132. Can I do better?

I'd like to be in a 3* hotel for under $150 a night (including taxes). I'm most sensitive to price and am willing to stay closer to the airport or a lower star rating to keep costs down. Ideally I'd be in the Chelsea, Madison Square Garden, or Empire State Building areas. The Midtown or Central Park areas would be okay, but I can't imagine them being cheaper. If absolutely necessary, I'd do Soho or Lower East Side if that is the only reasonably priced area. Thanks for the help!

I stopped at $110 because I found a cheap place for $100 on another site (not as nice but I knew which hotel it would be). But I did use what I learned to score a good deal in Boston the next day so it was worth it.
