brotherwo Posted February 29, 2012 Report Posted February 29, 2012 Put in a offer at $55 and was rejected, they wouldnt let me issue a price increase without changing location/stars however I want 4* in downtown. I will try back later
brotherwo Posted February 29, 2012 Author Report Posted February 29, 2012 went all the way to $75 in 5 dollar increments but with no luck
thereuare Posted February 29, 2012 Report Posted February 29, 2012 Please follow-up your previous Priceline Chicago thread with whatever you ended up doing for that trip, then reply to this thread and we'll comment on your post above. From your other thread we had started to discuss re-bidding, are you familiar with this concept now and know how to determine your re-bid zones? (as you have 11 re-bid zones when bidding 4* in this area, which will help greatly in your bidding) What is your maximum bid for this trip? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. brotherwo Posted February 29, 2012 Author Report Posted February 29, 2012 I'm familiar with adding additional areas that dont have that star level of accomodations. However, Im not familiar with rebidding zones. My max is bid is $85 (already have a room book at $115 with wedding group rate and would prefer to stay at that property)As for the Chicago booking, that was 2 years ago, I cant remember how it ended up
thereuare Posted March 1, 2012 Report Posted March 1, 2012 As for the Chicago booking, that was 2 years ago, I cant remember how it ended upThis information may still be in your PRICELINE account which you can still view by going to their home page and clicking the MY PROFILE >> MY TRIPS link near the top right of their home page.A re-bid zone is adding a zone that does not have the star level or higher that you're bidding. Using your ELEVEN re-bid zones (confirm them with the board if you're unsure how to determine these on your own), and taking into consideration your previously failed bids:Select 4* Downtown...Bid $70, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $75, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $76, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $77, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $78, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $79, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $80, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $81, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $82, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $83, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $84, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $85Any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes. brotherwo Posted March 1, 2012 Author Report Posted March 1, 2012 I just rebid and I was rejected once again...starting at $65$70$71$72 up to $76 I'll try again tomorrowThere were a couple "areas" that aren't listed on the Priceline Hotel List... one was I70 West.Anyways I didnt try those because I didnt want to end up with a 4* hotel out there
AaronJB Posted March 2, 2012 Report Posted March 2, 2012 The list only provides the hotels that have been reported to the board (and zones where hotels have been reported to the board), so the list is not recommended to use when planning re-bids. Confirm before bidding, but when I select the i70 zone during the bidding process, the top star rating showing as available in that zone is 2.5*.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
thereuare Posted March 2, 2012 Report Posted March 2, 2012 Anyways I didnt try those because I didnt want to end up with a 4* hotel out thereThe only method that should be used to determine your re-bid zones is detailed here: Priceline Re-Bidding ExplainedIf you read the previous and are confused just post back and we'll break it down further for you. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
