dwarftosser1 Posted July 5, 2005 Report Posted July 5, 2005 Return visit to Boston. Wanted to stay in Back Bay.Unsucessful at $64, $71, $81, (using Medford-Somerville, South Boston re-bids).72 hrs later tried again at $91, before landing at $101. Accepted at $101Your Offer Price: $101.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $101.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $20.95 Total Charges: $121.95 This hotel has gone for less, but prices for that night seem high (property going for $265 to $350 on other major sites). So I'm pleased.
thereuare Posted July 5, 2005 Report Posted July 5, 2005 Thank you for the latest report on this property... i assume you went from $91 to $101 in your bidding (no other bids inbetween)?Glad you got a hotel in the zone you wanted... as you point out, often higher traditional rates also mean higher opaque rates.Enjoy your stay and thanks again for sharing your win with the board. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
dwarftosser1 Posted July 5, 2005 Author Report Posted July 5, 2005 You assume correct -- I went right from $91 to $101.I suppose I could have tried in $5 increments, but looking at the Hotwire prices, I was guessing that $110 would have been the magic number. If I overpaid by $5, I'll just have one less pint :)
