PrivatePyle Posted February 28, 2012 Report Posted February 28, 2012 Going to using PRICELINE link on the forum. Will start at 90.
PrivatePyle Posted February 28, 2012 Author Report Posted February 28, 2012 90, 91, 92 (thanks to your re-bidding strategy) all got denied. Will try again tomorrow.
thereuare Posted February 28, 2012 Report Posted February 28, 2012 Are you also willing to stay in the Waikoloa-Kohala Coast zone as that would not be a re-bid zone if you're bidding 'Resort' in the Kona zone. What is your maximum bid for this trip? Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board. PrivatePyle Posted February 28, 2012 Author Report Posted February 28, 2012 Yes. Based on past wins I think the Marriott down there is my best chance. I can go up to $110/Night I guess. Yesterday when I bid 92, PRICELINE gave me the "If you are willing to go upto $117..." which means I can get it for <$110. Let's see.And seems all the resorts charge $25/ day as resort fee. May be I should start looking for 4-star hotels then.
thereuare Posted February 28, 2012 Report Posted February 28, 2012 If both the Waikoloa-Kohala Coast and the Kona zones are acceptable you can bid a little better than you have been.Let us know what you decide regarding acceptable zones, star rating, and your maximum bid and we'll advise accordingly. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. PrivatePyle Posted February 29, 2012 Author Report Posted February 29, 2012 I have a win. Used the PRICELINE link. $100 for Waikola Beach Marriott Resort and Spa.Thanks to this forum, I knew where to start and what to expect.
Annabella Posted February 29, 2012 Report Posted February 29, 2012 keep in mind that the 4-star hotels charge a similar amount for parking and something more for internet. If you don't need parking or internet you are saving some money. Check with the resorts and hotels first to have a better idea if the no resort fee equals an actual saving.
PrivatePyle Posted February 29, 2012 Author Report Posted February 29, 2012 Yes you are right. That is why I decided to book a resort. And this particular one charges $25, but both parking and Internet are included. Not bad I guess.
thereuare Posted February 29, 2012 Report Posted February 29, 2012 Congratulations on your success! Glad to see you received a nice deal at this property and are pleased with the outcome.Thank you for sharing your win and using the PRICELINE links on the board to begin your bidding.
