davecullen86 Posted February 27, 2012 Report Posted February 27, 2012 Hi guysThis is my first post in the form and I have been pointed in this direction from the UK money saving expert site!I hope someone is able to shed some light on my requirement :)We are travelling to New York on 17th November - 22nd November 2012 and have been looking online for hotels, so far we have found the Radisson Lexington - Petite Room -
AaronJB Posted February 27, 2012 Report Posted February 27, 2012 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)Unfortunately, this is traditionally one of the more expensive times of the year in NYC, with many people coming for shopping/holiday festivities.Additionally, in terms of Times Square, I'd recommend reading this thread: Hotels near Times Square. Areas nearby (MTE, MTW primarily, but a few others as well) are still reasonably convenient to TS while not being as expensive or crowded/hectic.This thread is also recommended reading: I've Never Used Priceline or HotwireWhat would be your desired budget per night (in USD$) and star rating, as well as PRICELINE zones of interest?Actually, looking at HOTWIRE rates for these dates, whether a case of far enough in advance or otherwise, rates don't seem as bad for this period as they often are - HOTWIRE has a 4* in Midtown East for $150 (fitness, restaurant, business, internet, spa), which would be a possible match for the W New York. You could likely get a 4* in the MTE area on PRICELINE for slightly/moderately less than that.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
davecullen86 Posted February 27, 2012 Author Report Posted February 27, 2012 Hi Aaron, many thanks for your quick reply, I understand this is a popular time of year being just before Thanks Giving and Christmas.I will ensure I read through the links provided so I am clued up on all the info! Our budget would be likely to be no more than 120 USD per night, as The Radisson Lexington is coming in at around 150 USD rack rate from their site. The areas we would like in the below order are:Times Square - Theatre DistrictMidtown WestMidtown EastCentral Park SouthI guess these are the typical areas that everyone wants to stay at right? Also, we would be looking for the highest star rating as possible which probably goes without me having to say :)Again many thanks for you help!
