jamesbrownontheroad Posted February 27, 2012 Report Posted February 27, 2012 Hello all. I've made a few successful bids on PL over the years for hotels, but never for a rental car.Looking at date & time of the the successful bids shared by other users on betterbidding.com, I'm tending to see that successful bids are made as close as a few days before the desired rental.I'm looking for a car at DTW in mid-April; would I be right in thinking I'll have a much better chance of low price in the week(s) immediately before? Thanks!
thereuare Posted February 28, 2012 Report Posted February 28, 2012 If you know what a "good" deal is, you have nothing to lose by starting your bidding now and place lowball bids... should business for these dates be slow now but busier closer to your dates, it's entirely possible that rates are cheap now and are higher closer to your travel dates. For more on timing your bids see the related 'Bid Early or Close to Checkin' link in our PRICELINE FAQ (written for hotels but same principles apply to car rentals)Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
