SlimCharles10 Posted February 27, 2012 Report Posted February 27, 2012 Hello!I've been reading through this board the past 2 days trying to figure out if I should use Priceline for my first trip to Vegas, and finally figured I would sign up and ask for some recommendations.Like the title says I am looking for a 4* hotel from 3/16 - 3/18, and my location is somewhat flexible as long as I'm on the strip. Judging from some other posts on this site I am hoping I can get one for under $100 a night (5* if I can somehow get lucky).Right now when I search on Priceline %75 for strip North/South I get this:Guaranteed Amenities: Indoor or Outdoor Pool, Restaurant, Guest Score 7/10 or HigherOffer Price Per Room, Per Night: $75.00 Subtotal: $150.00Taxes and Service Fees: $27.70Total Charges*: $177.70So my first question is, can anyone guess which hotel this may be?Also, I took a look at another post that listed various "Resort Fees" that may single out certain hotels. Is there any way to see (or guess) the resort fees on these hotels through Priceline?I have not yet tried using Hotwire, as it seems a little more confusing to me than Priceline's methods. Every time I search for the same criteria as above I get much higher prices. Thanks for your help!
thereuare Posted February 28, 2012 Report Posted February 28, 2012 Welcome to BetterBidding!PRICELINE is not offering you a specific hotel above, but rather they are informing you that any 4* or higher hotel you receive will have a Restaurant and a Pool. They 'know' this because all the 4* hotels in the zone(s) that you've selected have at least one restaurant and a pool onsite. As well, note that as per the screen information you've included below, PRICELINE has not yet even searched your dates for an available hotel.. there is no indication that $75 will be enough to win a hotel for your dates. When bidding on PRICELINE you need to be willing to accept any[i/] 4* hotel in the zone at the star rating (or higher) that you choose.HOTWIRE usually costs a little more than PRICELINE but it gives you the ability to take a guess as to the hotel you're likely to receive.Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
