twosnowflakes Posted February 27, 2012 Report Posted February 27, 2012 ideally would like to stay close to the park (central park south, maybe uws). 4* would be great, but 3.5 is ok, too. main concern is that on one of the nights we will have 3 people and would like a hotel that can accommodate this. thanks for your help!
twosnowflakes Posted February 27, 2012 Author Report Posted February 27, 2012 Hi, looking for bidding help for 3 adults in the central park or midtown central area. 4* would be ideal, 3.5 is fine, too. any idea where to start? thanks!
thereuare Posted February 27, 2012 Report Posted February 27, 2012 Welcome to BetterBidding! Please keep all posts for the same stay in the same thread. There won't be any way to ensure triple occupancy when using PRICELINE. PRICELINE only guarantees double occupancy, after that it's at the discretion of the hotel, and you could receive a room with only one bed. While you can call the hotel you win and request a room with two beds, the hotel may not be able, or willing, to honor your request. If the above is not an acceptable risk, HOTWIRE may still be an option as they allow you to search for up to quad occupancy and ensure sleeping accommodations for everyone you include in your search (although this usually means two beds, the second 'bed' could be a sofabed, rollaway, etc)What is your expected budget? Are you willing to pay more for a 4* vs. a 3.5* OR is the goal the least expensive 3.5* or better for this stay? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know your thoughts and how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there. twosnowflakes Posted February 28, 2012 Author Report Posted February 28, 2012 i'd be willing to spend more for a 4* within reason. Hoping to stay under/around $250 a night after taxes. is that feasible for 4*?
AaronJB Posted February 28, 2012 Report Posted February 28, 2012 PRICELINE only guarantees double occupancy/1 bed and there's a significant risk that you will not get two beds in NYC, where rooms are small and rooms with two beds often go for a premium.HOTWIRE would be a better choice - although more expensive - as you can indicate more than 2 people in the room and ensure bedding (2 or 1 + sofabed, etc) for the party. Would you rather take the risk with PRICELINE for cheaper or would HOTWIRE be of interest? If the latter, are you seeing any listings of interest when searching for 3 adults for these dates?Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
