I clicked on the HOTWIRE link in the forum and looks like they have a convertible for $52.95. Now I would like to start bidding on priceline. Shall I start with $30?

Nothing to lose by trying $30 (other than the $53 rate by disappear while you try to lowball on PRICELINE)... but given HOTWIRE's rate i would think that $43-$48 area would be more likely.

Thanks. I used the PRICELINE link on the forum with an initial bid of $35 and got denied. Will try $38 tomorrow.

Any re-bidding strategy for cars?

No re-bidding for cars unless you're willing to change the car class OR if you're returning the car at 11pm you could sometimes extend the return to 1am the next day without incurring an extra day fee (assuming you picked-up the car after 1am on your day of arrival) and therefore bid again since you've changed the date, but this is a 'special' circumstance and usually isn't possible for most bidding scenarios.

But noticed that HOTWIRE has knocked off a $. Its 51.95 now. Interesting. Will keep trying.
