Priceline Hotel: when to bid for hotel in may/jun 2012

i plan to book a hotel room for Jun 2012 for 2 weeks. Do i bid now or wait till close to time to get best deal?

I want to book either a 2.5 or 3 star hotel in North Ft.Lauderdale or West Ft.Lauderdale Plantation area for confirmed dates May 31-Jun11th 2012. When is best time to bid. I started bidding frm 40. and stopped at 50. what am i doing wrong.

Are you willing to pay more for a 3* vs. a 2.5* OR is your goal the least expensive 2.5* or better for this stay? For the bidding that you have already done, was that at 3*, 2.5* or both?

bidding was for 3 star, but i dont mind ending with a 2.5 star property. my dates r may31- jun 11th 2012. my zone is either north or west fort lauderdale.

Rates are date specific so it's not uncommon that you won't be able to replicate the winning bids of others if their dates are different than your own... wins for their dates may have been when demand (and therefore rates) are lower then for your own dates. As well, your stay is for two weeks, and if there is a major rate change during this timeframe, or if a hotel doesn't offer deeply discounted inventory for even just one nite of your date range, then it can severely impact your ability to land a deal.
