Priceline Hotel: When should I book in Vegas?

Hey Guy's

I am new to Priceline and I am trying to book a hotel in Vegas for either next weekend (3/2-3/4) or 3/16-3/18. I was curious as to when I should try and name my own price. I am in Phoenix so i can get a cheap flight and can book right up until my trip date if it helps.

Also, can I attempt to put in a bid for something like $69 for a 5 star just to see what will come up or will I be locked in? Trying to figure out this Priceline thing!

Which zone(s) and what type of star rating are you looking for on this trip?

Once you let us know the above we'll have a look at rates at the star level you desire for this trip to determine which may be cheaper, but i suspect the earlier dates will more likely cost less since this is March Madness season and more people tend to get interested in it as the tournament progresses.

We are going to a few shows that are at the Marquee so I would like to stay somewhere within walking distance to the Cosmo. I was looking at zone 9 and I did a few tests with $79/night for those dates but obviously got nothing. We don't need a 5 star place, but I want someplace nice with a decent casino and walking distance to the Cosmo.

Could even go 3/23-3/25, just looking for good rates.

Thanks again

Please keep all posts regarding this stay within this thread. Thanks.

PRICELINE is generally cheaper than HOTWIRE by varying degrees, but is more opaque. With HOTWIRE, one can often make an educated guess as to which hotels are showing based upon the information given (not guaranteed, at least an educated guess.)

Please read the FAQ for a detailed discussion of purchase timing - waiting until the last minute does not always result in lower rates (in fact, it can result in the opposite.)

Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
