blanding Posted February 24, 2012 Report Posted February 24, 2012 Of course first thing I used the links on betterbidding.com to click through to PRICELINE.comI have been bidding $90 to $95 about every day for the past couple weeks. Since my reservation date is so far in the future (May 2012) I have plenty of time to do one bid a day in my bid range. For weeks I was always denied up to $95. I would occasionally add a free rebid by adding a zone which did not include a 4* Resort hotel, and bid up to $96 or $97. They were always rejected. Today I got lucky and bid $95 first time out and was awarded the Conrad San Juan Condado Plaza. Best rates found on Hilton web site: $159+ tax/resort fee for nonrefundable room. Same for the aggregate sites such as Kayak, hotels, Expedia, etc. We are only staying one night in San Juan to catch an early flight back to the States after a week long stay in Vieques.Could I have saved more by waiting until closer to arrival? Maybe a few bucks, but I am happy with the bid and choice.Edit***Should say 4* instead of Resort Category.
thereuare Posted February 25, 2012 Report Posted February 25, 2012 Congratulations on your success! Glad to see you're pleased with the results and this property will suit your needs for this quick overnite stay on the island. While you may have bid 4*, this property is currently 'Resort' rated by PRICELINE so your bid was probably upgraded to a Resort class hotel (if you look at your winning bid confirmation page it probably says something to this effect)Thank you for sharing your win and using the PRICELINE links on the board to begin your bidding. Enjoy your stay. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
