rca292 Posted February 24, 2012 Report Posted February 24, 2012 Hi,I'm going to DC from March 16 - 26, not specifically for the cherry blossom festival, but perhaps overlapping it, and I am having trouble bidding on Priceline. I'd like to stay in the White house or Capitol Hill area. However, I wouldn't mind staying in Du Pont or foggy bottom either since they are close to the attractions. Our budget for lodging is about $1000 total, which is coming out to about $85/night. We'd like to stay in at least a 3* hotel, but would prefer a 3.5* or 4*.I've done some rebidding on the WH-DT and CC-CH zones already, up to our budget limit, on 4* and 3.5* level hotels, without getting any takers. Part of the puzzle seems to be that the weekday rates in central DC are much higher than the weekend rates. I'd like some advice on how I should continue my rebidding. Either lower my star level first, expand my search area first, or even break my stay up into 2 different hotels (to get a good weekend price in close to downtown attractions, then farther out for the more expensive weekday).Thanks!-Roshni

thereuare Posted February 25, 2012 Report Posted February 25, 2012 What is your preference... to try for a 3.5*/4* hotel in the GT-FB and/or DC-WP zones, a 3* in the CC-CH and/or WH-DT zones, or to re-try the zones you have already bid but for sub-sets of your dates? If looking to SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID how many times are you willing to change hotels? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
