airbag41 Posted February 23, 2012 Report Posted February 23, 2012 Was wondering if it is better to bid in smaller blocks to get a better chance of getting an accepted bid instead of 7 nights?
AaronJB Posted February 23, 2012 Report Posted February 23, 2012 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)Bidding is a situation-by-situation basis; in a low-traffic period, it's really not necessary to break up your stay. The situation where breaking up your stay would be best is a situation where part of the time period is busy (a convention is happening during part of your stay, for example, while the other half is quite a bit less busy.)If you would like assistance with your stay, please provide the date/s of travel, desired budget per night, destination and desired zones/star rating.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
Romelle Posted February 24, 2012 Report Posted February 24, 2012 An easy test to see if there are events or holidays in a destination city is to look up your days one at a time on Hotwire. If the rate is pretty much the same from day to day it is more likely booking all your days at once will be possible. Another way is to check your dates on some site like Expedia where each day's rate is listed separately.Since changing dates constitutes a sufficient change to let you keep bidding in the same session, you can bid all 7 days first and then try 1st 4 and last 3 (or something similar) while still bidding the same $$ amount. airbag41 Posted February 24, 2012 Author Report Posted February 24, 2012 Thanks. I'm looking for Boca Raton FL from 3/14 - 3/21I'll now checkout Expedia and try to zero in on days the hotels have open and cheap and maybe look to adjust bids that way (great tip!)
