Priceline Hotel: Bidding strategy help

I've never used priceline before, and would appreciate any advice on my first bid!

I want a 4* hotel in Vancouver. If I can get it for under $85/night, I'll book 2 nights -- August 2-4 2005. I've searched the winning bids and saw a lot of 4* rooms go for around this price, but nothing close to my dates. If it's over $85, I'll get only 1 night - August 3-4.

I don't want to waste my bids trying to get 2 nights if it is unlikely that I'll be successful. What should I do? Thanks in advance for any advice!

Welcome to BetterBidding!

Few things...

First you'll need to know and understand PRICELINE RE-BIDDING. Please read the previous link and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding (you have three re-bid zones available when bidding 4* in this area)

There is no harm trying for both dates first... when you change your dates it's viewed as an entirely new bid (and not a duplicate of your previous bid) so you won't be 'wasting' any bids by trying for both dates first.

Once you understand re-bidding I would try the following for both dates and then let us know how it goes, if unsuccessful we'll look at just the 2nd date and advise accordingly:

Select 4* Vancouver...

Bid $70, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $75, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $80, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $85.

Any questions feel free to ask.
