SabrinaMichele Posted February 23, 2012 Report Posted February 23, 2012 Just used the better bidding boards to try and win a really nice 3* in the Roseville/Rocklin, CA area for Saturday night. The only hotel that was showing up was the Hyatt Place Sacramento/Roseville, Conference Center Drive, Roseville, CA. Used the PRICELINE link on BB to access Priceline. Unfortunately...that was not the hotel I won. :( *very sad face* I put in a $47 bid ($60.81 after taxes & fees) hoping to win that hotel, and ended up winning the Courtyard by Marriott in Roseville off Taylor Rd. (right by the freeway). Hoping our stay is nice despite not winning the hotel I was hoping for. The tripadvisor reviews are a mixed bag so just trying to stay optimistic. I live in the area and purchased this for a special occasion, so here's hoping it 'tops' the night and doesn't 'ruin' it.
AaronJB Posted February 24, 2012 Report Posted February 24, 2012 Sorry to hear that the result is a disappointment - hopefully the hotel will exceed expectations and will still work well for the occasion. The retail side is different than the bidding side; a hotel may not appear on the retail side of the service, but can still show up on the Name Your Own Price side.Thank you for sharing your win and please use the site's PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links to start your purchases and searches.Enjoy your stay.
bcl Posted January 9, 2013 Report Posted January 9, 2013 Just wanted to comment here after staying at the Courtyard (and there are two in Roseville) on Taylor and also having stayed at the Hyatt Place on a previous occasion. The time I got the Hyatt Place, the non-opaque price for the Courtyard was lower, but I was surprised to the get the Hyatt Place. Courtyard is fine and a great value for a room in the $45 to $55 range. However, Hyatt Place has considerably larger rooms, a 42" TV, a refrigerator and wet bar in each room, and has free breakfast and all-day coffee in the lobby for all guests. The in-room coffee is the same, but they gave more at the Hyatt Place. Once we pulled out the sofabed at the Courtyard the whole place felt really cramped. The Courtyard does have a nice "living room" downstairs that we only noticed on the way out. The service we got was really good at both hotels, and it didn't seem as if they treated us any differently because we booked opaque on Priceline.
