suttonpd Posted February 22, 2012 Report Posted February 22, 2012 Hi all,My wife and I will travel to New York in October and would like to stay in midtown Manhattan. We're interested in 3* or better and have a budget of $100-$150/night. I'd appreciate any advice or help on strategy. Many thanks,Paul
AaronJB Posted February 22, 2012 Report Posted February 22, 2012 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)This is an extremely busy/expensive period in NYC, and while it happpens right after your stay (11/4), the NYC Marathon may cause additional traffic for your last night with anyone coming in early. Which PRICELINE zones (MTW, MTE, CPS, etc) would be acceptable?Based upon rates I'm seeing for these dates, $150 may be difficult; while you certainly have time to try up to that point, I'm guessing a 3* may end up taking somewhat more than $150.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
suttonpd Posted February 22, 2012 Author Report Posted February 22, 2012 Hi Aaron,Sounds like it could be a struggle alright - do you think a 2.5* would be doable at those rates?Any zones around mid-Manhattan would be acceptable - CA, ESB, MSG, CPS, MTW, MTE, TS, UWS, UES.Thanks.
thereuare Posted February 22, 2012 Report Posted February 22, 2012 We will of course suggest a strategy for the complete stay first, but if that is unsuccessful, is SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID an option?Assuming your flying, what time is your flight home depart on 11/3?Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
