FREDCOOL Posted February 24, 2012 Author Report Posted February 24, 2012 I think $90-$100 is my limit price in Austin. However, I want to change my checking date to March 11th. Does the price vary?
thereuare Posted February 24, 2012 Report Posted February 24, 2012 Not sure if coincidence or if there is a lot going on in Austin in March, but this is the second set of dates in this city that i've checked for users recently where rates were very high and/or availability very low. When bidding 3* in Austin you have TWO re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 3* Downtown...Bid $75, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $80, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $85If the above is rejecdted wait 24 hours after your last failed bid and re-try:Select 3* Downtown...Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $95, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $100Any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes. landa321 Posted March 6, 2012 Report Posted March 6, 2012 South By SouthWest is going on 3/9 through 3/18. It brings in tens of thousands of people into the downtown area. From wiki: "Collectively, SXSW is the highest revenue-producing event for the Austin economy, with an estimated economic impact of $167 million in 2011."
