Coal Posted February 23, 2012 Report Posted February 23, 2012 Hi,Great forum. This is my first post. I am planning to be in NY June 7 to 11 and was hoping to use Priceline to book. Is it unrealistic to find a hotel with two queen beds for these dates at a reasonable price? Any other tips or threads for families (2 adults and 2 kids under age 5).Thanks much
musicfan Posted February 23, 2012 Report Posted February 23, 2012 Short answer--yes, it is unrealistic (and risky) to do Priceline for a family of 4, especially in New York. Priceline guarantees that your bid gets you a room for two people only. In some areas, you could take the chance of getting a room with two beds, but not in New York, where rooms are typically quite small and often have only one bed. I haven't used Hotwire, (and you can read more on this site), but my understanding is that with Hotwire you can specifically request accommodations for four.
Coal Posted February 23, 2012 Author Report Posted February 23, 2012 Many thanks. I will repost this question in the hotwire forum.

thereuare Posted February 23, 2012 Report Posted February 23, 2012 Welcome to BetterBidding!Do you necessarily need 2 Queen beds or would a room that can accommodate quad occupancy be sufficient (ie- may make use of a pullout sofabed or rollaway brought into the room be acceptable?). What is your desired star rating? What is your expected budget per nite (before taxes and fees)? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
