I'm new to using priceline and came upon this great website. After seeing the numerous posts of wins for The Hyatt for between $50-$65, I decided that I could bid the same for 3/2-3/4. I started at $50, rebid at $55, and again at $60 which were all rejected. I was surprised since other people were able to get wins at those values. I just don't know why I'm being rejected. I'm going to try tomorrow at a bid of $65 but I'm I just going to Chicago on an expensive weekend? Thanks.

If you haven't yet, please start by reading your messages.

Rates are date specific so it's not uncommon that you won't be able to replicate another user's wins if rates for their dates are less expensive than your own.

With the above noted, rates for your dates are not that high, and i think you should be able to get a very nice deal for this trip, what is your maximum bid for this trip? Also, are you only interested in the Loop zone OR is the NMA-River North zone acceptable as well?

I think the highest I could go is $80, but of course, I don't want to go that high, knowing what other people have bid. In my re-bids, I did include NMA-River North area as well, and they were also rejected. Thanks for your help!!

Rates can vary substantially even from one day to the next, so successful bids from other dates are not reflective of what it may take for these - I don't think you're far off, though. My guess is that a 4* in either of these zones is likely going to take between $65-75. I'd be surprised if you had to go to $80.

Ok so I rebid for Millenium Park-The Loop-Grant Park for $65 and was rejected. Rebid, adding NMA-River North for $70 and got Hotel Felix. Not what I hoped for but saw that priceline offers it for $129 so I'm optimistic!

Nights: 2

Subtotal: $140.00

Taxes: $30.78

Total: 170.78
