Hotwire raises prices before you can book?

Hi there,

I have been checking car rental prices on HOTWIRE, using the link on this site, for an upcoming trip to Charleston. I notice that consistently there is an initial price listed, but when you go to book, Hotwire raises the price by a dollar.

This doesn't seem right to me, does anyone have an explanation for this practice?

Can you please follow-up your Priceline Nashville topic with whatever you ended up doing for that stay, as well as update your Hotwire Ashville thread with any decisions/your current thoughts for that trip.

Then, for the car rental issue above, we will try to re-create your search... what is the location, dates, car class, and rate(s) shown (both on the splash page and then again when you try to book)? Is this for the same rental as your Charlteston Car Rental thread? (if so we'll merge the threads and continue the discussion there)
