Good Day Everybody.

I realized now there is a 5* property in Paris La Defense zone.

Do you think it is the Sofitel La Defense?

If it is not the Sofitel then I don't have any idea which hotel this one is.

Previously the Sofitel has been reported as a 4* property.

Best Regards.

I believe the Sofitel is now rated 5* by PRICELINE and have updated the Priceline Hotel List accordingly... but keep in mind that others could have always been upgraded as well.

Do you have an upcoming trip to Paris? If so, what are the dates of your stay and desired budget/star rating?

Hi again.

We are going to Paris for 5 nights starting in October 13, 2012. My Wife and I, only 1 room.

At this moment we want to stay in a 4* in either La Defense or Marais-Republique.

My budget, at this time, is no more that $115 but I really don't have a limit. If I have to rise my limit in order to get my room, I will do it. Eventually.

I have been placing bids starting with $93 dollars going all the way up to $115 with $2 increments.

I am using the permutations method in order to get 12 chances to bid and I guess I haven't had any success because is too early too bid.

I have been using this link---> PRICELINE

Regards.

UPDATE.

I kept bidding for a long time for a 5* in la Defense to see what it would come up with.

I never got the 5* even after bidding up to $130 so I cannot confirm the 5* in la Defense.

I still think it might be the Sofitel though.

Nevertheless, we changed our whole trip end ended up going to Brittany and Normandy instead. We only stayed in Paris for 1 night, at the end of the trip in the Sheraton (inside the airport).

Best Regards!!!

Thanks for closing this thread with your decision... i assume your staty at the Sheraton was a regular rate purchase (and not thru PRICELINE / HOTWIRE)?

When the opaque providers don't work for your needs, please use our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases.

Hi Again.

Sorry for not closing this thread in a proper manner before. It won't happen again.

Yes, the stay at the CDG airport Sheraton was a regular rate purchase.

If I am not mistaken, I think I paid using SPG points.

I think it was points + cash.

You didn't have  MAPS and HOTELS  http://www.mapsandhotels.com/  back then. I'll make sure I use it next time!!

Thanks!!
