Hi all. What a wonderful resource you all have here, glad I found it. Im looking to bid for a Miami 3.5 - 4* hotel for the weekend +sun (3/23 -3/26) and wondering what prices I should be targeting. I am open to the following zones in order of preference: Downtown, SoBe (any), Coral Gables, Miami Beach. What will it take to bag a 4 in any of those? A 3.5? Thanks for any info you can provide! Ill be sure to bid through the affiliate links.

Welcome to BetterBidding! (and thanks for the compliments on the board)

Let's break this down and take it one step at a time...

I am open to the following zones in order of preference...

Are you willing to pay more for a hotel in the Downtown zone vs. the South Beach zone vs. Coral Gables, etc, etc... OR is your goal the least expensive hotel (at the minimum star rating you select) in any of these zones? Or is the goal perhaps the least expensive hotel in either the Downtown or South Beach zones, try that up to your limit, then if rejected try including Coral Gables and/or others?

Similarly, are you willing to pay more for a 4* vs. a 3.5* OR is your goal the least expensive 3.5* in the zone(s) that you select? What is your budget (per nite before taxes and fees) for this trip?

Gave up on this weekend because of a conflict. However, I will be bidding for a night in Washington DC (for said conflict) and will update on my status in the appropriate sub-forum. Thanks for the help!

instead of starting a whole new thread, i thought i would just bump this one since im in the same boat.

its a super big weekend down there, SoBe is pretty much sold out everywhere if not rooms are outlandish.

How does this effect getting a deal in the surrounding area?

Im basically looking for the cheapest 4 star in either Coral Gables/MIA Airport/MIA Downtown

any tips, tricks or special prayers to make it happen for say 100$ a night?!

Thanks to all for their feedback!
