Will be going to Lollapalooza this summer and want to get a hotel early(at least 3 stars) in Grant Park and River North area. Any suggestion for bidding price for 3*, 3.5* or 4* ? I will guess $120-150 for a 3* hotel.

Unfortunately, I thought this would be early enough that rates wouldn't be terribly high for these dates (which are traditionally very tough at Chicago hotels), but it looks - at least in terms of HOTWIRE rates - that rates are already on the high side. In terms of regular rates, even the 2* Red Roof is over $175 regular rate. Hotels may also not be aggressively discounting given that they're expecting high traffic.

Lollapalooza is in Grant Park and closer to the hotels in the MP-Loop-GP zone. Hotels in the NMA area are not the first to fill up for these dates and may be somewhat/moderately cheaper than the MP zone hotels.

Is your desired max $150? Are you interested in aiming for the cheapest three or pushing higher for a 3.5/4*?

I don't mind paying $200 for 3.5/4* hotel in Gp and nma areas.

Did you want to try for a 4* up to your budget, then if rejected try for a 3.5*... OR is your goal the least expensive 3.5* or better for this stay?
