hov Posted February 20, 2012 Report Posted February 20, 2012 Good morning,My friends and I are planning to go to Vegas from April 13-15. I have never used priceline before and I want to stay in a 5star hotel that weekend. We would need two rooms. My question is that priceline has "las Vegas strip north" and "las Vegas strip vacinity south". I want the hotel to have gaming inside, what hotels that are 5star fall into those categories? Also what bid price shall I start at? Would the two rooms be next to each other or does hotel pick two random rooms on diff floors?Thank you Hov
AaronJB Posted February 21, 2012 Report Posted February 21, 2012 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)Please provide your desired budget per night for this stay. As for two rooms, once you have booked your rooms, you can call the hotel to request rooms next to one another - that is not guaranteed, but should be a fairly basic request. The hotels that have been reported to the board in Nevada on PRICELINE can be found here: Priceline Hotel List.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
hov Posted February 21, 2012 Author Report Posted February 21, 2012 I was thinking of starting at 80 bucks. Is bellagio in either north or south?

hov Posted February 22, 2012 Author Report Posted February 22, 2012 Would it be better to only bid on either north or south strip to get the rooms the cheapest?
thereuare Posted February 22, 2012 Report Posted February 22, 2012 By bidding both Strip North and Strip South at the same time it helps you win the least expensive 5* hotel in either of these zones, so simply by bidding both zones it improves your chances of receiving a better deal. However, note that you mention the hotel must have gaming inside, the Vdara is a 5* hotel in the Strip South zone that does not have a casino, although the Aria casino is just a 5 minute walk away, not sure if this would be acceptable for your needs this trip or not.You can see all hotels reported to the board in the corresponding Priceline Hotel List (and here is the equivalent Hotwire Hotel List).Let us know which zone(s) you'd like to bid as well as your maximum bid (not where you want to start) and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. hov Posted February 22, 2012 Author Report Posted February 22, 2012 Considering I'm getting two rooms, probably max I would want to go with is 120...is that a reasonable/achievable amount? Either zone is fine because all those hotels seem nice.
thereuare Posted February 22, 2012 Report Posted February 22, 2012 ...probably max I would want to go with is 120...is that a reasonable/achievable amount?Probably not, but we can try... however, before suggesting a strategy, to confirm you'd be 'ok' with the Vdara which doesn't have a casino? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. hov Posted February 24, 2012 Author Report Posted February 24, 2012 it did not go well...i went up to 170 and nothing. any other tips? maybe i try again on monday morning
Romelle Posted February 25, 2012 Report Posted February 25, 2012 Tip - Hotwire has a 4* South strip hotel (with casino) for $105 for your dates?Romelle
thereuare Posted February 25, 2012 Report Posted February 25, 2012 As noted above, $120 was not a very likely successful bid amount.Do you want to try again on monday at the same bid amount and hope for lower rates between now and your trip, raise your maximum bid, or lower your star rating? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
