kabelcash Posted February 20, 2012 Report Posted February 20, 2012 Hey,what budget do I need for a room for 1 night (dates THU 3/1 - FRI 3/2) in a 2* oder 2.5* Manhattan hotel?Would 60 bucks (+ tax/fees) be sufficient?THANKS!
thereuare Posted February 20, 2012 Report Posted February 20, 2012 Welcome to BetterBidding! We don't typically recommend the lower star rated hotels in NYC as the quality can vary so greatly from one property to the next (even within the same star rating). While there may be some 2.5*/2* hotels which would suit your needs, there may some which do not, and with PRICELINE / HOTWIRE you can't choose which type it is that you will get. With the above noted, NYC hotels for $60 or less at any star level is almost unheard of. Rates for your dates are not that high, but it will likely take somewhere between $70-$90 to be successful... and near the higher end you may even be able to get a 3* property.I will also add that HOTWIRE has a 2* hotel in the Central Park zone for $72/nite with: Restaurant, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business. The Days Hotel Broadway has previously been seen with this amenity set so that would be my best guess for this one, although i'll add that this zone can go pretty far north which is not the ideal location for the average visitor, but if budget is your primary objective for this trip, it may be something you want to consider if this HOTWIRE property will work for your needs. If you decide you'd like to bid on PRICELINE let us know which zones (by PRICELINE name) you'd like to bid for as well as your desired star rating and maximum bid. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you decide and/or how it goes or how we can be of further help. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
