Droubi Posted February 20, 2012 Report Posted February 20, 2012 Thanks so much for this awesome website! My main reason for joining is that my girlfriend and I are going to Vegas on tues, March 13 - fri March 16.
AaronJB Posted February 20, 2012 Report Posted February 20, 2012 Welcome to Betterbidding and Happy (early) Anniversary. :)If you would like us to try to confirm the HW listing, please provide the full list of amenities. As for bidding, while the Vdara has been seen less lately, that does not mean that it - or another property aside from the Aria - could not suddenly appear. When using PRICELINE, you have to be willing to accept any 5* in the zone. Lastly, if HOTWIRE is showing a particular property, that does not necessarily mean that the same property is the likely result on PRICELINE. Neither service is guaranteed when it comes to a specific property, but HOTWIRE would be the better choice in terms of chances/looking for a particular hotel.Additionally, as for the special on the hotel website, I would definitely read the fine print - my guess is that the $100 resort credit is for the length of the stay, not per night.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
Droubi Posted February 20, 2012 Author Report Posted February 20, 2012 Thanks so much for the quick reply and kind words Aaron! The exact amenities on HW are: Resort, Casino, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, High Speed Internet. Looking at the HW wins it seems to be the aria and if I put in the first 2 nights only it gives a price of $122 and for all 3(incl. Thur night) it gives price of $146. I am currently leaning either towards using PL or go thru aria for that resort credit- it's a $50 credit, but the dates of those 2 nights qualify for double so it's $100 total, which helps bring the rate down to about $100 each night. The only problem is that we still have to figure out the last night as this promo won't let you include Thursday night. I also thought about using PL as the wins seem to be mostly aria and I'm sure we will enjoy any of the 5 stars on there, but I really want to ensure we stay where there's a casino as I gamble quite a bit. So, that is my dilemma and to add to it I really want to pull the trigger on something ASAP as I don't think the price are going to get much lower. Is there a formula or a trend on the best actual time to book a Vegas hotel? Part of the gambler in me wants to wait until the night or two before, but my girlfriend thinks that I'm crazy. Thanks again,Tony
thereuare Posted February 20, 2012 Report Posted February 20, 2012 The description above does match previous reports for the Aria so that would be my best guess for this one. When i checked earlier this morning i believe this same property was offered on HOTWIRE for just the last nite of your stay at $190/nite... would it be worthwhile to book 2 nites direct (for the hotel credit) and the book the last nite thru HOTWIRE?If you do decide to book direct, please use this Aria link for your purchase... and these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links for any 'opaque' purchases you make.Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
Droubi Posted February 20, 2012 Author Report Posted February 20, 2012 Thanks again for all the quick replies. I ended up booking the first 2 nights directly thru aria(I did make sure to use above link), but decided to just wait and figure out our last night when it gets a bit closer. This site is officially bookmarked on my iPad now.Tony
