arjay Posted July 3, 2005 Report Posted July 3, 2005 Went all the way to $105 trying to get either the Hilton or Hyatt at Logan and struck out. Does anyone have any idea whether things might change as the date nears? Or should I just try for downtown instead?
thenewbie Posted July 3, 2005 Report Posted July 3, 2005 Welcome! Since you're looking for 2 nights, are you in Boston for 'tourist' things? Unless you need/want to be in the Airport area, Downtown or Copley zones are usually better for seeing the city. That being said, Hotwire has a Logan 4* for $117. If you're new on Hotwire, use the code 'GIFTCARD06' to save $10 per night. If you have an Entertainment Book, you can also use the rebate form to save $30. If you don't own one yet, Entertainment Books are now $9.99 + S/H.
arjay Posted July 4, 2005 Author Report Posted July 4, 2005 Thanks Newbie! We're doing a short layover, shaving time off the "big pond crossing" (from the midwest to London), and hope to do a few tourist-y things in Boston while there. The reviews of the airport Hilton and Hyatt and had me so enthralled, I figured that was where we needed to be = even tho our on-land aim was to 'rediscover' Boston (where we haven't spent any time in about 20 years). So dropping our (+100) bid quite a ways and trying for downtown seems like the smart thing. Would still like to get an idea of the cost of a Logan-downtown journey though. Also, schlepping our own bags is part of the problem here. One of us has 'mobility issues.'Thanks again!
thereuare Posted July 4, 2005 Report Posted July 4, 2005 Welcome to BetterBidding! If you want to stay by the airport you can do so for only $7 more than you have already bid (as per the above $117 + $10 discount mentioned above). If you switch areas, which zones are you willing to bid for? (Downtown/Charlestown only or also Copley? any others?)Let us know and we'll suggest how to proceed.
