ninjastache Posted February 17, 2012 Report Posted February 17, 2012 Me and a few friends are looking to book 2 rooms for Vegas, for March 23rd and check out on sunday the 25th. I've used the links provided, but had no luck. I'm looking to spend no more than $150. Any suggestions or tips would be appreciated. all 3 of the 5* hotels in the south would work for us.Thanks in advance, if you need any more info let me know.
thereuare Posted February 17, 2012 Report Posted February 17, 2012 Welcome to BetterBidding! To confirm, you have already bid up to $150/nite for this trip? If so, not much you can do other than continue bidding and hope for lower rates in the weeks ahead. In the meantime, depending upon where you intend to eat/drink, clicking this link to the Vdara look at the top left of the ensuing page. They have a "stay 2 nites and get $100 dining credit". Rates for your dates thru the previous link and promotion average $215/nite... deduct the $100 food/drink credit per stay and you're at $165/nite average, which gets you close to your $150 target (assuming you intend to eat/drink at the hotel and can make the credit 'as good as cash'). This rate appears to be refundable up until 48 hours before your arrival date (double check terms during the check out process) so might be good to use as a back-up if you decide to continue to try PRICELINE / HOTWIRE.Let us know your thoughts and/or what you decide and we'll take it from there. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. ninjastache Posted February 17, 2012 Author Report Posted February 17, 2012 before anything, Thanks a lot, I had no idea I'd have a response so quickly, speaks volumes about how helpful this site can be.that is correct i've already bid up to $150 a night. Although i do like the Vdara, I doubt i'd be eating at the hotel, since we'll be meeting up with a larger group of people in Las Vegas, so I'll more than likely try bidding again a few more days, and keep checking for other deals that might come up. Is there a specific strategy you recommend for bidding? Also, if after a few more nights of trying i can't lock down one of the 3 5* hotels, what would be a bidding strategy if I included the north end 5* Hotels? Thanks in advance once again.
thereuare Posted February 17, 2012 Report Posted February 17, 2012 Thanks for the compliments and glad to hear you're already finding the board to be useful. At the 5* level in Vegas you have ELEVEN re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 5* Strip South...Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $130, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $133, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $135, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $138, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $140, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $143, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $145, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $148, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $150Any questions feel free to ask. If/when you're ready to include the Strip North property, simply include it in the first bid (so you'd be bidding both Strip South and Strip North in all of the bids)Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Keep us updated and let us know if we can be of further help along the way.Good luck. ninjastache Posted February 25, 2012 Author Report Posted February 25, 2012 Not sure what was going on that weekend, so had to bid more than i originally had planned. but 180 for the Wynn, Sounds good to me.Anyone know what type of roooms are usually given by the Wynn via Priceline?
thereuare Posted February 25, 2012 Report Posted February 25, 2012 Congratulations on your success! Nice deal for this 5* property. Most users receive 'standard' rooms at this property, but there isn't anything standard about them... they're very nice and oversized. Upgrades happen sometimes based upon what the hotel hotel has available at time of check-in, if non-standard rooms are ready but others rooms they may upgrade.Thank you for sharing your win with the board.
